What are UTM parameters
UTM parameters are tags at the end of a URL after the question mark. The page stays the same, but Google Analytics sees where every visitor came from: which ad, social post or email.

When you need UTM tags
- Ads on Google Ads, Meta, TikTok: which campaign brings customers.
- Posts on Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube: which platform works best.
- Email and SMS newsletters: how many clicks each message produced.
- QR codes on flyers and banners: how many people came from offline.
UTM parameters explained
The first three are required, without them the campaign does not show up in reports.

utm_medium

How to build a UTM link

- 2Pick the traffic source: the builder fills in utm_source and utm_medium.
- 3Type the campaign name. Uppercase, spaces and non-Latin letters are fixed automatically.
- 4Copy the link, shorten it or download a QR code.

FAQ
Parameters at the end of a link, after the "?". They do not change the page, but analytics tools read them and show where each visitor came from: an ad, a social post, a newsletter or a QR code.
utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign. Without them Google Analytics will not recognise the campaign. Add utm_content and utm_term when you need to compare ads or keywords.
Technically yes, but in a URL they turn into long sequences like %D0%B0 and often show up as duplicates in reports. The builder transliterates them to Latin automatically — you can switch that off.
Yes. To analytics, "Facebook" and "facebook" are two different sources. That is why the builder lowercases values and replaces spaces with underscores.
Yes. A short lnk.ua link redirects to the full URL with every UTM parameter intact, and on top you get click statistics, a QR code and a clean link for social media or print.
In Google Analytics 4: Reports → Acquisition → Traffic acquisition. Pick the "Session source / medium" or "Session campaign" dimension and your tags will be there.
The builder never skips a required parameter, never adds a second question mark, lowercases values and transliterates non-Latin letters. It also inserts the Google Ads, Meta and TikTok macros that are easy to mistype.
Yes. Tags work in any link: an Instagram bio, a LinkedIn post, a TikTok or YouTube video description. All you need is Google Analytics or another analytics tool on the site to read them.
